YIC Letterkenny to Host Eurodesk ‘Time To Move’ Information Event for Young People

Eurodesk, the Europe-wide information network for young people has just launched their ‘Time to Move’ campaign that will run across Europe this October.  The campaign aims to educate young people about working, studying, training and volunteering opportunities across Europe.

The Letterkenny Youth Information Centre will host a free ‘Get Up, Go and Explore’ information event as part of the campaign for young people aged 13-30 on Thursday the 10th of October from 4-8pm.

The free event will include information on opportunities in Europe, but there will also be EU quizzes, Eurodesk Time To Move board games, a Time To Move Festival and an opportunity to meet young people who have already taken part in European volunteering programmes or studied abroad.  As there will be a wide range of activities on the day you can drop in at any time between 4 and 8pm for information.

There are many opportunities in Europe for young people from Ireland, especially those with fewer opportunities such as unemployed young people and early school leavers. Working, studying, training or volunteering in Europe can be especially beneficial to young people struggling to find their place in society. But often this information doesn’t reach the people who need it most. The Time to Move campaign from Eurodesk, the Europe-wide information network for young people, aims to put this right.  The campaign also provides useful local contacts in the areas of Youth and European Information.

For more information about the Letterkenny event, please contact Kasia at katarzyna.kurzeja@donegalyouthservice.ie or call 074 91 29630.  The event is open to all young people aged 12-30.  No booking required, just drop in at any time from 4-8pm to the Letterkenny Youth Information Centre at Donegal Youth Service, 16-18 Port Road, Letterkenny.
