One of the books available is ‘Asking For It’ by Irish author Louise O’Neill.  It is a Young Adult novel dealing with the issue of consent and the modern world.  The story is based in small town Ireland, in a close-knit community.  Described by the Irish Times as “brave, clever, provocative but relentless”.  Louise has won several prestigious literary awards for her work as an author.  ‘Asking For It’ was a number 1 bestseller and was named the overall Book of The Year at the Irish Book Awards 2015.

There is a wide variety of books available to read in the drop-in, and plenty of couches and cups of tea to be had as well.  Check it out and see what treasures you can find!

Plato’s Cave is the book club based in the YIC, give them a call on 074 91 29640 or message their Facebook to find out more.  What could be better than curling up on the couch with a good book?
