Our Generation Youth Worker (Full-time)

Responsible to:      Our Generation Manager

Timescale:                Until April 2023

Location:                  1 position to cover Donegal

Hours:                       35 hours per week

Salary:                       Donegal Youth Service Youth Worker point 4 €32,667

 

Description of Project

‘Our Generation’ is a new, regional cross border, cross community initiative to building peace through emotional resilience across NI and the border regions of Ireland resulting in meaningful, purposeful and sustained contact between children and young from different communities. Our Generation programme staff includes a team of one manager, three youth workers and one part-time administrator. This initiative is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The successful candidate will have the drive, ambition, ability and strategic vision to add value to this dynamic organisation.

Job Summary: To facilitate the delivery of our suite of Mental health resilience programs in relation to the Our Generation Project in line with agreed contractual obligations set out by the Special EU Programmes Body incorporating the Donegal Youth Services youth participation ethos and strength’s-based approach to working with young people.

Responsibilities will include:

Promote the opportunities of the Project, recruit and maintain the necessary number of participants

Facilitate and deliver mental Health resilience programs to young people aged 5 to 25

Facilitate and deliver mental health resilience programs to Key contacts who work with young people including teachers and Youth Workers

Carry out all aspects of programme planning, delivery & evaluation of the Project

Work in partnership with other stakeholders within the Our Generation Project

Develop and maintain working relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders within the Mental Health and Youth work sector

Support the development and ongoing operation of the cross-border & cross-community Partnerships

Ensuring that all project targets are being met

Maintain relevant Data as required by SEUPB, organisational and operational

Any other duties shall be such as may be assigned from time to time by the Management Team or by the Board of Directors of Donegal Youth Service
