Happy International Women’s Day!  We want to celebrate inspiring and wonderful women today.  Which woman inspires you the most and why? It could be a woman you know personally, a woman from history, or a woman who is famous now.  Let us know below!



Some inspiration…


Donegal woman Nikki Bradley set up an awareness campaign called ‘Fighting Fit For Ewing’s’ in 2013 after she found out she would have to use crutches permanently. FFFE is an awareness campaign which aims to highlight the importance of exercise for rehabilitation. You can read more about Nikki and her story on her website.


As a young girl, Malala Yousafzai defied the Taliban in Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. She was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012, but survived and went on to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.


Michelle Obama is an American lawyer and writer who was First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017.  She was the first African-American First Lady.



Amelia Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928.


Emma Watson is a British actor and activist.
