‘Food From The Holy Land’ Syrian Food Event a Great Success

It has been said that ‘food is the ingredient that binds us together’, and the first event of the new ‘Food From The Holy Land’ project did just that.  People of all ages and from all over the world came together in the LOFT at Donegal Youth Service for a Syrian feast recently.

The feast consisted of various types of authentic Syrian food, kindly cooked for the local community by two Syrian women Nadine Berri and Jawaher Kurdi who have recently come to live in Letterkenny with their families.

“We had such a great day and we are extremely thankful to the people from Syria who put in so much effort allowing us all to appreciate their beautiful food.” LOFT Youth Worker Frankie McGreevy said.

The Loft Youth Project, Donegal Youth Service and the Community Foundation for Ireland are delighted to host the new initiative in partnership with the Donegal Local Development Company Resettlement Programme.
